Fuel Water Emulsion (FWE) and SCR catalysts

Diesel railway vehicles:

    Introduction

DPF und SCR

FWE und SCR

Exomission’s technology portfolio makes completely innovative, highly economical combinations of processes possible in order to reduce exhaust gas emissions specifically according to problems and applications. Depending on the requirement, it is possible to use FWE technology and an SCR system in combination. By precisely matching the design of the two technologies, we are in a position to offer railway operators customised solutions that are characterised by incomparably high cost efficiency.

This means that it is possible to design the SCR system for further NOx reduction to be smaller (and therefore even more cost efficient) when the Exomission emulsion procedure (FWE) is used as the primary technology that leads to a reduction of nitrogen oxides by 30%, for example.

AdBlue® consumption can also be drastically reduced. For example, if the engine raw emissions are required to be reduced by 60%, the emulsion technology can eliminate the first 30% and the SCR system the remaining 30%.

This roughly halves AdBlue® consumption. Assuming an additional fuel saving of 2%, the operating costs for the SCR system can be completely balanced out in extreme cases with the help of FWE.

The “side effect”: Simultaneous soot reduction of up to 90%.
